Why do I need a onecard?

The onecard is the most important piece of identification you will have while at Sheridan. The onecard is your complete access to the Sheridan Community. The benefits associated with this card include savings, convenience, flexibility and security.
Your onecard is your official identification card for Sheridan and as such requires you to have a photo taken to appear on the card. This card serves many functions and can provide you with access to a wide variety of services.

How do I obtain a card?

To obtain a onecard visit B189 at the Trafalgar Campus (aka Grassroots) , C205/206 at the Davis campus (across from the Health Center), ITSC at the Hazel McCallion Campus during business hours. Please be sure to bring a piece of Government issued photo identification such as a Driver’s License or Passport and proof of your Student ID Number . STC students are asked to visit the Trafalgar Campus to obtain their onecard.

First Card

If you are a registered student, faculty or staff member, you will be issued your first card at no charge.

Is there a charge for the card?

Your first onecard is free. If it is lost, stolen or damaged there will be a $25 replacement for a regular card.

What is the onecard used for?

  • The onecard is flexible and convenient –Your onecard can be used at participating on campus food locations. You can make deposits can on your onecard 24/7 by using on-line debit on the secure site located at or during business hours in the onecard office (debit only). Deposits are hassle and worry free.
  • The onecard is safe - if your card is lost or stolen, your account balance is protected from the time you report your card missing at the onecard Office or by deactivating your card immediately at
  • The onecard helps you budget – manage your funds by using the many features provided on such as transaction history, account balances and more.

Parents can also deposit funds to their son/daughter’s card by visiting and using the Parent Deposit link. Parents will require the student's date of birth, student number and pin to deposit funds. Parents or those who wish to add funds to a student onecard can also call the office at 905-845-9430 ext 2966 for assistance in making a deposit.

What happens to the remaining funds on my card?

Funds remaining on your account at the end of the academic term will automatically roll over to the next term. If you are leaving Sheridan or graduating, you may request a refund at the end of the term. All refund requests are subject to a $50 processing fee. To apply for a refund, visit the onecard Office.

What if I lose my card?

If your card is lost or stolen, you must deactivate your card to protect your balances by visiting and using the 'Deactivate Card' feature. Once deactivated, obtain a replacement card by bringing a valid Government issued piece of Photo I.D. to the onecard office and a new card will be issued to you for a $25 replacement fee. Fee payment is by debit only.

What does it mean if the system is off-line?

Periodically the onecard system may go down and will run off-line. "Off-line” means transactions can still occur as the system is set to allow a limited number of transactions to still occur while in "off-line" mode. Once the onecard system comes back online, it adds up all of the transactions or purchases you have made and charges them against your onecard. If there is not enough money on your onecard to cover the purchases your account goes into a negative balance. Once back online, should your account be in a negative balance, no further purchases will be allowed until funds have been deposited back on to your account.
The onecard Office checks for negative balances on a regular basis and will attempt to advise you of the situation via email, using your Sheridan email account. However you are responsible to be aware of your account balance, and are responsible for any spending into the negative. If you do not repay the amount due, the onecard Office may transfer the outstanding balance to your College Student Account for collection.

Is my onecard the bus pass?

Your onecard is not your bus pass however the onecard office will provide you with a sticker for discounts on the GO transit.

Can my card go into a negative balance?

No. If you do not have enough funds on your card for your purchase, the system will not allow the transaction- unless the system is off-line.
